What Spdio does
A simple desktop app to extract vocals and music, with no account and no cloud.
Vocals and instrumental
Each track becomes two MP3s: vocals and music, ready to listen to or reuse.
Queue
Drop several songs at once. They run one by one, with progress, cancel, and retry.
Built-in preview
Listen to both stems in the player before saving them through the Mac save dialog.

The download is about 15 MB. The AI engine downloads once on first launch.

Download the app
Open the DMG, drag Spdio to Applications, then launch it. Gatekeeper accepts it: it is signed and notarized.

First launch
The app downloads the AI engine once (internet required). After that it works offline.

Drop an MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A. When it is ready, download vocals and music.

What is Spdio?
Spdio is a macOS app that separates a song into vocals and music. Processing happens on your Mac — the file is not uploaded.
Are my songs sent anywhere?
No. After the first-time AI engine download (official PyTorch packages / the model), nothing leaves the computer. Stems stay in the app data folder until you delete them.
Why is the first launch slow?
The installer is intentionally small. The AI engine (about 1.5 GB) downloads once into Application Support. Later launches are instant and offline.
Windows and Linux?
The Apple Silicon macOS build is available here. Windows and Linux are planned — same app, other installers. This page will be updated when they are ready.
Is the app free?
Yes. Download and use it with no account. There is a PayPal link if you want to support the project.
